Chania Window, Crete

16 x 20
Acrylic on Canvas

This part of the city of Chania dates from 1497, and fronts on the inner harbor built by the Venetians. Windows set in walls 3 feet thick look over the narrow cobbled streets, with ledges crowded with pots, flowers and lines of laundry drying overhead.

Older members of the family enjoy the evening sitting outside the the front door, leisurly talking to passers-by, neighbors and friends.
